UC Women

The Cataraqui UCW had approximately 13 active members in 2006, and while they were few in number they were still a very active group. They hold ten meetings a year, including a special Christmas Pot Luck, and usually break over the summer months. Each meeting consists of a devotional, a business portion and of course a chance to have fun, get together and enjoy a nice luncheon.

Cards and flowers were sent or taken to church members who were ill, bereaved or being thought of at Christmas and throughout the year. The UCW members contributed food to funeral gatherings through out the year whenever requested to do so.

Various members attended and participated in functions representing the Cataraqui UCW. Some of these events include The World Day of Prayer, The Kingston Presbyterial United Church Women’s meeting and the Bay of Quinte Conference.

Members of the UCW also actively helped the fund raising committee at the church fund raising activities. Their baking skills are always well appreciated!

The Annual Christmas Bazaar is held in November. Crafts, baked goods and white elephant tables are set up and a delicious luncheon provided. It is a fun event and a successful fundraiser.

Donations were made to various worthy causes which include Mission and Service Fund and Cataraqui United Church.
